By using your Roland Content Store login email, your software licenses will be ready for download as Lifetime Keys immediately.

WHAT IS A LIFETIME KEY AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

A Lifetime Key is a cloud-based authorization for Roland Cloud instruments. Roland Cloud Membership and Lifetime Keys are managed through a free online ID called a “Roland Account.” A Roland Account is required to access Roland Cloud Manager, which will periodically connect to the internet to authorize your Membership and/or Lifetime Keys. The Lifetime Key system is part of an expanding service that includes free lifetime updates, cloud-based mobility with installation on up to five devices, plus access to current “Test Drive” promotions of amazing Roland virtual instruments and patch collections.

FAQ:

My installed software is still the Roland Content Store version even after installing Roland Cloud Manager.

After you install Roland Cloud Manager, you must update or install your Lifetime Key within the Library section to replace the Roland Content Store version with the Roland Cloud version. If it is still the Roland Content Store version while the Library shows “installed," we recommend you uninstall and then re-install within the Library, just in case.

How can I see whether my installed software is the Roland Content Store version or the Roland Cloud version?

For plug-in software, you can simply confirm by clicking the OPTION button on the plug-in panel.

  • If the menu reads "Activation..." it is the Roland Content Store version.
  • If the menu reads "Authentication..." it is the Roland Cloud version.

For R-MIX, you can confirm the version number via the "Help" button.

  • 1.20.2580 is the Roland Content Store version.
  • 1.27.2643 is the Roland Cloud version.

After I install the Roland Cloud version, my previous DAW project(s) are missing the plug-in(s).

In some cases, the software needs to be reconnected to your project. Please make sure to reconnect using the same format that you were previously using in the project—such as AU or VST. If your plug-in is using a different format, it may sound strange or distorted as the parameters are not compatible between AU and VST.

What if I was using the 32-bit versions of the Roland Content Store plug-ins?

Roland Cloud only supports 64-bit plug-ins. Please renew your DAW environment to a 64-bit version before installing the Roland Cloud version.
